The Effects of Prayerlessness

No comments :

Colossians 4:2 - Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

Have you ever thought the fact that there is a price when we allow our prayer life to subside? When we realize such certain moment, we sometimes think the repercussion that it will take.

Emptiness. If we fail to make prayer as the priority in our life, we will feel empty and disconnected from the source. Our hearts will feel a strange sense of unrest and uneasiness. Do you realize that when we pray, our burdens seem to be lighter as we have someone to talk to? As I always say, God's yoke is always waiting for us to be shared and surrender to Him any circumstances that we might have.

Lost. When there is no sense of belongingness with Him, we could get lost in the middle of weariness and hardship and we become accustom to it. If we continue in this manner and lifestyle, we begin to rely upon ourselves instead of upon the Lord and the effect could be vulnerability and always at risk of disaster.

To avoid these difficulties, let's make it a habit and priority in our lives the fellowship and communication with the Lord. It is a must that we pray and in contact with our Father in order to clearly hear His voice and fathom His will and plans for our life. If you feel that sometimes you allowed prayerlessness in your life and in "seenzone" with our heavenly Father, confess this to Him. Once you renew your prayer life, you will able to experience again His goodness and re-ecounter God's best.

Who is the Real Boss?

No comments :

When I was young, I tried to make money as early as nine years old but I have no means of doing it. It is basically to help my parents regarding the expenses in our home. I remember that I used to sell plastic bags in a market and it wasn't simple. I also experienced working in a publishing house, I used to write short stories for comics and it was 150 pesos each. I also tried going door to door giving out flyers as an advertisement for a school supplies store. Thank God I have the best parents in the world who worked hard so that we can finish our studies. I thought life would be easy in terms of work, that I just have to do my best and impress my boss in everything I do to earn that money.

I experienced hardships, stress, job loss, sickness and almost giving up in work. Sometimes, I don't feel fulfillment in my work as I always thought of being the best in the eyes of my manager. Eventually, I realized the true meaning of service. He told us that we should serve one another but we might encounter certain people that will make our lives difficult and miserable. We might face an overcontrolling boss, a powertripper manager and demanding supervisor. But thanks to His words, we are bound to the true meaning of work and whom we serve. I always look into these verse whenever I am having a challenging stage in my work: Colossians 3:23-24 (23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.)

If we put in our hearts the true meaning of such biblical definition then the impact of our work will lead to a better place. Also, the quality of each of our steps will be improved and it will keep us going. So whatever our task is, whether "cool" to others or not or even seems to be unattractive, lets put Him first in everything we do and always put in our minds that we do our work to glorify Him and He is the real boss. Trust Him that He will use us for His purposes and that we were not put in our position for the good of others. We are portraying our roles and goals wherever we are. So if we are having any trouble in our work that pertains to our boss, just think that they are answerable to the Maker and that we only serve to Him, we should impress Him, do everything for Him and serve Him with joyful heart and in the end, we won't be needing approval and appreciation from others. We need to know only that God is pleased and promises reward those who serve Him (Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.)

Forgiveness

1 comment :
Yesterday's preaching by Ps. Christie was very powerful. It was a heartfelt moment as the message striked me and I believe that many were affected. I saw some people who were crying and I can feel their pain. A friend confessed to me that he was also crying as he was touched by it. In some instances, I was hit and I told to myself, "Oh, that was me. I was doing that bad thing!". The main topic yesterday was forgiveness, truly, you cannot receive full blessings if you can't give it to those who have hurt you.

We were forgiven by the Lord and covered by the holy blood of Jesus, to unlock the blessings, why don't we give the same sincere forgiveness to others. This has been mentioned in Colossians 3:13 - 'Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you'. This will result to narrow down the anger, to ease the pain and to move forward.

Yes, forgiveness is against our nature so we forgive by faith. Whether we like it or not, we should forgive and put the complete trust to Him that he will do the works and set your heart free from anger, bitterness & wrath. It is our job to forgive as it pleases Him, we should please God. Also, I believe that forgiveness is a slow process, you just need to let Him do his part by healing your heart and make necessary actions. We should forgive even if it takes a hundred times to do so as mentioned in Matthew 18:21-22 'Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.'
